James Dillon (born 1950 in Glasgow) is a British composer.
Dillon exposed art and design, linguistics, piano, acoustics, Indian rhythm, mathematics and computer music, but is self-taught inside composition. Honours include number one prize in the Huddersfield Festival (1978) and a Kranichsteiner Musikpreis at Darmstadt (1982). Dillon taught at Darmstadt from either 1982 to 1992, & has been the guest lecturer & composer at various institutions about the world. His music has been published by Edition Peters since 1982.
